Formed in 2003 in response to a growing demand for locum hospital doctors, Athona realised a requirement in the market for an agency to focus on specialty specific recruitment. In August 2003, a national shortage of anaesthetists initiated our first recruitment drive.
After successfully building a strong bank of high-calibre anaesthetists, our reputation for placing locum doctors into hard to fill posts grew, with that so did our dedication to specialist recruitment. Using the same methodology, between 2005 and 2008, we opened dedicated recruitment desks for
